The global rhythms of HipHop are set to collide in an unprecedented cultural celebration as Unesco Connect proudly presents Boompat Hip-Hop. This exciting event marks a unique collaboration between two Unesco Cities of Music – Kingston, Jamaica, and Hannover, Germany, with a creative partnership that also includes artists from Kenya. The night will showcase the dynamic sounds of the Boompat Culture, a musical fusion blending Boombap Hip-Hop with Jamaican Patois, an innovative movement born from the recent music exchange project Hip Hop Hook Up (HHHH).
The Boompat Culture emerged from the collaboration between Kingston’s vibrant music scene and Hannover’s underground artists, alongside contributions from Kenya’s rising talent. Together, the artists have crafted two incredible albums that explore the intersection of Boombap Hip-Hop and Jamaican Patois, offering a fresh and exciting sound to hip-hop heads worldwide. These albums will be formally introduced to the public at the Boompat Night as part of the Hip Hop Hook Up Hannover and Kingston Culture Endorsement Program.
Live Performances: The night will feature thrilling live performances from artists Mohjay Da Producer, Bynz Urgenton (Jamaica), Achkar, Ama Akroma, Raslock and Funzo Kuu (Kenya), formed into two bands Vibez Delivery (Hip-Hop) and Amaroots (Reggae).
Lyric Recitation: Experience the lyrical power of Boompat as artists recite their original verses, bringing their poetic flows to the stage.
Beat Kiosk & Open Mic: Stay tuned for a Beat Kiosk where you can vibe with fresh beats and an Open Mic session, giving artists the chance to shine.
